Salt Bae has made the headlines once again, and if you are thinking it has anything to do with his culinary or meat-sprinkling skills, you’re in for a major surprise.
Three years ago, he kissed the FIFA World Cup Trophy and threw the internet – and the FIFA security team – into frenzy. This time, it is less ostentatious, but it seems Salt Bae really likes to hang out sports tournament celebrations. It was during the PSG celebrations this time.
Turkish chef Nusret Gökçe, known worldwide as Salt Bae, was reportedly barred from entering the player’s celebration area. Either that or he did enter but was kicked out. A video has emerged that shows Salt Bae leaving the area along with his security detail.
Some scuffle is also visible in the video between the security at the venue and Salt Bae’s bodyguards. Reports show that the hoopla started when Gökçe was asked for an invitation to be allowed to enter the venue.
FIFA TROPHY IN SALT BAE’S HANDS – BACK ON SOCIAL MEDIA
The footage of Salt Bae leaving, appearing on social media, quickly brought back the memories, media and madness of the time when in 2022, Salt Bae had kissed the FIFA World Cup Trophy in Qatar.
Argentina had just triumphed over France in the World Cup final and the world was busy swooning over Messi, when Salt Bae joined in performing his signature sprinkle on the trophy and kissing it. He also managed to get a hold of a less-than-impressed Lionel Messi for a photograph.
He landed in some trouble with FIFA later on, but he seems to have forgotten that, with yet another attempt to get in with the sportsmen for celebrations.
SALT BAE GAVES HIS SIDE OF THE STORY
Responding to the social media frenzy over news of him being kicked out, Salt Bae took to Instagram and posted that he had arrived to the hotel in UEFA bus. He said, “The reason we were there at that moment was because of our thousands of fans who wanted to see us there. As always, I was in that area to return their love and to take photos. Due to the busyness that occurred, while I was waiting for my vehicle to go to my own hotel, my back turned in front of the door, there was a directive from Mr. Dormen.”
