Political leadership hails ceasefire, praises nation, forces
ISLAMABAD: Following India’s announcement of a ceasefire on Saturday, Pakistan’s political leadership has extended warm congratulations to the nation and the armed forces, hailing their role in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty.
Leaders from across the political spectrum praised the military’s professionalism and resolve, describing the ceasefire as a moment of pride for the country.
Meanwhile, rallies in support of the Pakistan Army were held in various cities and towns, with people taking to the streets in celebration.
Crowds are waving flags, chanting patriotic slogans, and expressing joy over the diplomatic and strategic victory of Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while speaking to Awami National Party (ANP) Senator Aimal Wali Khan, congratulated him on the recent ceasefire agreement and praised his consistent call for peace during times of conflict.
The prime minister said that no one should be happier than the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the announcement of the ceasefire. “Through you, I extend my greetings to the entire Pashtun community,” said the prime minister.
In response, Senator Aimal Wali Khan paid tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces and especially the Air Force for their role in defending the country. He reiterated his belief that “peace is the only solution to all problems.”
Meanwhile, PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, while expressing gratitude to Allah for what he described as Pakistan’s dignity and success, congratulated the country’s civil and military leadership in the wake of a ceasefire with India.
