Lahore unveils traffic plan for PSL 10 matches - Check here
No major road closures expected; brief diversions during team movements only
In light of the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 matches, Lahore’s traffic management authorities have rolled out a comprehensive plan to ensure smooth operations during the high-profile cricket event, which kicks off on April 24.
The provincial administration has confirmed that no major roads will be closed, and only brief, temporary closures will be implemented to facilitate the movement of teams between hotels and the stadium.
With all PSL matches in Lahore set as day-night fixtures, starting at 7:00pm, concerns had been raised about potential traffic congestion, particularly with school hours coinciding with match schedules.
However, the traffic management authorities have assured the public that key roads, including Mall Road, Canal Road, Jail Road, Main Boulevard, and Gulberg Road, will remain fully operational throughout the games.
Authorities have also outlined that any road closures will be temporary and strategically timed to minimize disruption. The primary purpose of these brief closures is to ensure the smooth transit of players and officials between their hotels and the stadium, without causing significant delays for regular commuters.
In a proactive move to address the expected traffic overlaps, the provincial administration has revised school timings for institutions located near Gaddafi Stadium. From April 24 to May 18, schools in the vicinity will operate from 7:00am to 12:00pm, ensuring that students and faculty can avoid the peak traffic hours associated with both school commutes and match-day crowds.
The action-packed PSL games in Lahore will commence on April 24, with the Lahore Qalandars set to face off against Peshawar Zalmi. The grand finale is scheduled to take place at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium on May 18, marking the conclusion of what promises to be an exhilarating cricket tournament.
