 Alec Baldwin drops bombshell lawsuit in ‘Rust' shooting case



Alec Baldwin walked free in manslaughter trial back in July 2024

Alec Baldwin has decided to take a legal action against prosecutors in connection with the charges he faced in Rust shooting case.

For the unversed, in October 2021, the 66-year-old actor was charged with involuntary manslaughter after accidentally shooting a cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, using a prop gun during the shooting of film Rust.

Now, according to People magazine, six months after his trial was dismissed in July 2024, the Supercell actor made a civil complaints against prosecutors in the case, over "malicious abuse of process”.

The Atrabilious actor has also accused first Judicial District Attorney officials, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office authorities and Santa Fe County Board of County Commissioners of “intentional spoliation of evidence, defamation, and violation of the New Mexico Civil Rights Act”.

Baldwin’s lawyers claimed that the accused mentioned in the case were "blinded by their desire to convict" him "for all the wrong reasons, and at any cost".

In his lawsuit, the Boss Baby star also argued that "certain defendants" had deliberately concealed evidence and lied while on the stand in order to make him a "scapegoat".

According to Alec Baldwin, he wants the defendants to be "held accountable" for their "malicious and unlawful pursuit" against him.
