Tehran: The funeral prayer of Ismail Haniyeh was attended by thousands of people carrying Palestinian flags
The funeral prayer of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political wing of Hamas, was held in the capital of Iran, Tehran.
Ismail Haniyeh's funeral prayer was led by Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, which was attended by thousands of people, including women and children.
Funeral attendees carried Ismail Haniyeh's portrait and Palestinian flags while Ismail Haniyeh's funeral was accorded the same protocol as former Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi.
Ismail Haniyeh will be laid to rest on Friday in Doha, the capital of Qatar, for which his body will be transferred to Doha today. It will be in the cemetery.
It should be noted that Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political wing of Hamas, was martyred in an Israeli attack in the Iranian city of Tehran on July 31.
Hamas confirmed the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh in the Israeli attack in Tehran, while one of his bodyguards was also martyred in the attack.
Iranian TV says that Ismail Haniyeh was in Tehran to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of the Iranian president, and he was killed by an attack on his residence.
