Russia says it destroyed more than 100 drones and 4 missiles launched from Ukraine overnight
Russia’s air defenses destroyed 117 “aircraft-type UAVs” and four tactical missiles overnight, its defense ministry said on Wednesday.
Of those unmanned aerial vehicles — also known as drones — 37 of them were destroyed over the Kursk region, where Ukraine launched its surprise cross-border incursion last week. The four missiles were also destroyed in the same region.
More than 35 Ukraine-launched drones were also destroyed over the southwestern region of Voronezh, which borders both Kursk and Belgorod regions, Voronezh Gov. Aleksandr Gusev said in a Telegram post on Wednesday.
There were no casualties from the attack, Gusev said, adding that “several residential and non-residential properties, municipal infrastructure, and vehicles were damaged as a result of the fall of UAV debris.”
The risk of further drone attacks in the region is “still present,” he added
