The anti-terrorism court of Lahore ordered the transfer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi to Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore.
The jail trial of the May 9 cases against Shah Mehmood Qureshi is ongoing. Shah Mehmood Qureshi had filed an appearance request through video link from Adiala Jail while the police had requested Shah Mehmood Qureshi to be permanently transferred to Kot Lakhpat Jail.
The Anti-Terrorism Court accepted the request of the police.
On the other hand, former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was permanently transferred from Adiala Jail to Kot Lakhpat Jail.
According to prison sources, Shah Mehmood Qureshi is accused of involvement in vandalism, rioting and arson on May 9.
