Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as a party approached the Supreme Judicial Council against the Chief Election Commissioner and members.
Tehreek-e-Insaf Secretary General Umar Ayub filed the complaint through Barrister Ali Zafar. In the complaint, PTI mentioned the events before and after the elections and said that the Election Commission failed to fulfill its constitutional responsibility of fair and transparent elections and PTI's polling agents were thrown out of the polling stations during the elections.
The PTI took the position that the Election Commission failed to release the results as per the law and turned a blind eye to the pre-poll rigging.
PTI further says that loyalties of PTI members were changed in the press conference, nomination papers were taken away from PTI candidates, workers were abducted while coverage of PTI was banned but Election Commission No action was taken, PTI was not even allowed to campaign.
In the complaint to the Supreme Judicial Council, it has been said that Form 45 was not given to media and polling agents on time, Returning Officers were appointed on political basis, Election Commission not only excluded PTI from the elections but also took away certain seats. Tehreek-e-Insaaf has become a regular party in the courts.
In the complaint, PTI requested that an inquiry be conducted against the Chief Election Commissioner and members for misconduct and if the allegations are proved, the dismissal of the Chief Election Commissioner and members should be recommended.
