Judicial Commission meeting: The proposal to make 4 former judges of the Supreme Court as ad hoc judges will be considered




A meeting of the Judicial Commission was called for the appointment of ad hoc judges in the Supreme Court.


The Chief Justice of Pakistan said that the meeting of the Judicial Commission will be held on July 19. According to sources, the Judicial Commission will consider 4 names for ad hoc judges.


Sources said that the Chief Justice has nominated the names of Justice Retired Mushir Alam, Justice Retired Maqbool Baqir for ad hoc judges, while the names of Justice Retired Mazhar Alam Mian Khel and Justice Retired Sardar Tariq Masood are also included in the nominated judges.


Sources say that the decision of ad hoc judges was taken to reduce the pending cases in the Supreme Court.


According to sources, a retired judge can be appointed ad hoc judge in 3 years or less, 4 former judges of the Supreme Court have been proposed to be made ad hoc judges for 3 years.


According to the constitution, there must be 17 judges to appoint an ad hoc judge in the Supreme Court.
