57 Bangladeshi citizens sentenced for illegal protests in UAE, ordered to be deported
Abu Dhabi: United Arab Emirates sentenced 57 Bangladeshi citizens for illegal protests.
According to Arab media, the Bangladeshi immigrants were sentenced on Sunday by the Federal Court of Appeal in Abu Dhabi for causing harm to public order.
The Federal Court of Appeal sentenced 3 Bangladeshis to life imprisonment for calling illegal protests and inciting others, 53 Bangladeshi citizens were sentenced to 10 years in prison for participating in the protests.
The court said that a Bangladeshi was sentenced to 11 years in prison for illegal entry into the country and participating in protests, all convicted accused will be deported immediately after completing their sentences.
According to Arab media reports, the convicts held demonstrations against the Bangladesh government in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday.
