West Indies defeated USA by 9 wickets in Super 8 stage match of ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
In the 46th match of the T20 World Cup, the West Indies team won the toss and decided to field first.
Batting first in the match played in Bridgetown, Barbados, the American team scored 128 runs and was all out in the last over of the innings.
First innings
Batting first, American batsman Andres Goss scored 29 runs off 16 balls with 1 six and 3 fours.
West Indian bowler Ruston Chase got 3 wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs, Andre Russell also managed to get 3 wickets for 31 runs in 3.5 overs while Alzari Joseph got 2 wickets and Gadakesh Moti got 1 wicket.
Second innings
The West Indies team won by completing the target of 129 runs given by the United States in 10 overs and 5 balls for the loss of one wicket.
West Indies side Shai Hope scored 82 and Nicholas Pooran remained not out by scoring 27 runs while Johnson Charles was the only player to get out scoring 15 runs off 14 balls.
It should be noted that West Indies and USA teams have played one match each in the Super 8 stage so far and both the teams had to face defeat in their first match in the Super 8 stage.
It should also be remembered that the South African team, included in Group 2 of the Super 8 stage, has played 2 matches and won both matches, while the England team has played 2 matches and won one.
Teams from Australia, India, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are included in Group 1 of Super 8 stage of T20 World Cup.
