America has expressed regret over the incident of mob violence in Swat.

While giving a press briefing in Washington, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that there is concern over incidents of religious violence.

The US spokesperson said that the right to religious freedom, freedom of expression and peaceful assembly should be respected, supporting Pakistan's efforts to combat terrorism.

In his press briefing, he further said that he supports such initiatives that promote the rule of law and the protection of human rights.

Matthew Miller said that Pakistan-US partnership on security matters includes anti-terrorism talks and funding.
