Summary sent to cabinet for appointment of new directors of 8 electricity distribution companies


Islamabad: Summary for the appointment of new board of directors of 8 electricity distribution companies has been sent to the federal cabinet.

A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb was held in which the proposal to nominate independent directors for electricity distribution companies was approved.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the committee did not approve the proposal for strategic classification of the 4 railway companies and directed that the change plan for the four railway companies should be submitted to the committee.

Officials of the Ministry of Finance say that a business plan should be given for reforming the Ministry of Science, STEDEC.

On the other hand, the sources say that the summary of appointment of new board of directors of 8 electricity distribution companies has been sent to the cabinet, in which the board of directors of ISCO, Fesco, Tesco, Kesco, GAPCO, PESCO, LESCO and MAPCO have been appointed. The summary has been sent, the final approval of the boards will be given by the federal cabinet and the members of the new board have been proposed on professional basis.

It should be remembered that the Prime Minister had broken the boards of 8 discos on the basis of poor performance.
