Saudi Arabia imposed a major ban
Saudi Arabia has banned the import of vehicles from 20 international car manufacturers.
According to the Saudi Gazette report, the Saudi government has banned the import of vehicles from 20 international car manufacturing companies for failing to submit a supply plan.
The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization and the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) have banned the import of vehicles from 20 car manufacturers into the Kingdom. The authorities have taken this decision on the part of the said car makers not submitting their supply plan for the current year 2024 within the specified period.
According to the report, Saudi automobile agents will be temporarily banned from importing their new light vehicles, weighing not more than 3.5 tons, from these automakers until they Supply plans of companies should not be submitted.
Mavani says the list of these car manufacturers will be published on the unified electronic portal for energy efficiency.
It should be noted that according to the rules set by the standards, metrology and quality organization, the supply plan of every automobile company must be registered.
The organization had announced last year that 21 automakers had failed to submit their supply plans within the deadline.
