Maryam Nawaz resigns from NA 119, will take over as Chief Minister from PP 159
Maryam Nawaz, the chief organizer of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, gave up the seat she won from National Assembly Constituency NA-119.
PML-N nominated Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz withdrew from NA-119 constituency. The Senior League will take over the post of Chief Minister from the seat of Vice President PP 159.
Maryam Nawaz has sent a letter of withdrawal from NA 119 to the Election Commission, on which the Election Commission will hold by-elections.
According to League sources, PML-N leader Saad Rafique will be given the ticket on the seat won by Maryam Nawaz. Saad Rafique lost to independent candidate Latif Khosa from NA-122 in the February 8 general elections.
It should be noted that Maryam Nawaz was elected Member of Punjab Assembly from National Assembly Constituency NA 119 and PP 159 from Lahore.
