According to the report of The Guardian, the police, while not revealing the soldier's name, said that the said man was raising his voice outside the Israeli embassy in support of Palestine, during which he sprinkled petrol on himself and set himself on fire.
According to media reports, the person with severe burns was taken to the hospital in a critical condition where he is being treated.
A video posted online showed a man in uniform shouting 'Free Palestine' as police tried to put out the fire and he was taken to hospital.
A person related to the incident told US media that the unidentified person reached the embassy and started live streaming on a video streaming platform.
The man put down his phone and then set himself on fire, the US soldier saying 'he will no longer be involved in genocide' before setting himself on fire.
The video was later removed from the social media platform, an Air Force spokesperson confirmed that the man was an active member but did not provide further details.
It should be noted that the number of Palestinian martyrs has reached 30,000 in the barbaric attacks of Israel since October 7, while according to the United Nations, 90 percent of those killed in Gaza are women and children.
