Punjab government's decision to rain artificial rain again in Lahore

The caretaker Punjab government has decided to send artificial rain in Lahore once again.



A delegation headed by Ahmed Al Kamal, the head of the cloud seeding team of the United Arab Emirates Meteorological Department, met the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab in Lahore. Among those who met the Chief Minister of Punjab were Chief Pilot Michael Anstis and Pilot Colonel Obaid.


Mohsin Naqvi appreciated and thanked the efforts of the UAE team for raining artificial rain to reduce smog. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister of Punjab said that once again artificial rain should be used to reduce smog. will be attempted.


The UAE team will provide artificial rain as soon as the desired clouds arrive to further reduce smog levels.


The Punjab Chief Minister said that for the first time in Pakistan artificial rain was successfully tested in Lahore and the air quality level remained below 200 for many days. It is hoped that artificial rains will return in January as appropriate clouds arrive. The name of the UAE team has become a part of history by bringing artificial rain for the first time in Pakistan.


He further said that the nation of Pakistan cannot forget the efforts of the UAE pilots and is grateful for the unending support of the UAE leadership in providing artificial rain.


UAE experts said it is hoped that a second trial of artificial rainfall will be conducted in January when the desired clouds arrive.


Ahmed Al Kamal, the head of the UAE team and other members of the delegation thanked Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi for the excellent hospitality.
