Petrol price likely to drop by more than Rs 5 per litre

ISLAMABAD: Pakistanis will get a sigh of relief if the prices of petroleum products are reduced in the second fortnight of January this month.

From January 16, 2024, there is a strong possibility of a reduction in the prices of petroleum products, the selling price of petrol is likely to decrease by Rs 5.32 per liter while no reduction is expected in the price of diesel.

A senior government official says that one of the reasons for the drop in petrol prices is the stabilization of the value of the rupee against the dollar. A reduction in the price of kerosene oil by Rs 3.29 and light diesel by Rs 1.75 per liter is expected.

The said officer also said that the government has no intention of reducing the price of diesel.

After the reduction, the price of petrol will be reduced from Rs 276.21 to Rs 267.34 per litre. Thus, the price of kerosene will decrease from 188.83 to 185.54 rupees per liter, while the price of light diesel will decrease from 165.75 to 164 rupees per liter.
