IMF approves $700 million tranche for Pakistan
The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund held a meeting in Washington in which it was decided to issue the next tranche of loans to Pakistan. In a statement issued by the Federal Ministry of Finance, it has been confirmed that the IMF Executive Board has approved 700 million for Pakistan. Issuance of dollars has been approved
The money will be given under a standby arrangement of $3 billion, Pakistan has already received $1.2 billion under the nine-month programme.
After receiving the next tranche, the total amount received by Pakistan under the Standby Arrangement will be 1.9 billion dollars, after which Pakistan will get another 1.1 billion dollars after the completion of the last economic review in case of completion of the next economic review expected in February. will
It may be recalled that the review mission of the International Monetary Fund had recommended Pakistan to issue this tranche. Pakistan has implemented all the previous points suggested by the International Monetary Fund.
