Armed forces are modernizing systems to deal with threats, Army Chief
Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir has said that the armed forces are modernizing their system to prevent and respond to any threat against Pakistan.
According to ISPR, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir witnessed the firing of various air defense weapon systems during the exercise 'Albiza 3 2024'.
The Army Chief witnessed integrated fire and combat exercises of Army Air Defense Systems, including High to Medium Air Defense Weapon Systems, Low to Medium Air Defense Systems Short Range Air Defense Systems (SHORADs) and Extended Short Range Air Defense Systems.
In a historic achievement and milestone to enhance Pakistan's air border defense during the exercise, the HiMed system was able to engage the target with other weapon systems to fire for the first time.
On the occasion, the Chief of Army Staff appreciated the remarkable achievement of incorporating targets with Army Air Defense operational readiness.
Speaking to the officers and men, the Army Chief said that the armed forces of Pakistan are modernizing their systems as per our needs to prevent and respond to any threat against the country.
Corps Commander Karachi, Commander Army Air Defence, Inspector General Training and Evaluation and Inspector General Arms also witnessed the exercise.
Earlier, the Army Chief visited the Army Air Defense Center. The Army Chief laid floral wreaths at the martyrs' memorial and paid homage to the martyrs of the armed forces.
The Army Chief has appointed Lieutenant General Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, HI (M) as the Colonel Commandant of the Army Air Defense Corps.
